About the role

What You'll Be Doing

As the Custodial Supervisor, you will:

Supervise the shift custodial operations of 25-40 custodians assigned to up to 20 buildings in the Building Services Department.
Plan, coordinate and schedule custodial activities including the requisition of general custodial supplies, inventory for assigned buildings, and approve and monitor work hours, overtime and flextime.
Travel among buildings and inspect individual areas for compliance with customer service and department standards, safety procedures, etc.
Consult with General Manager on status of daily shift activities and advise of problems and/or needs. Foster teamwork and staff professional development.

What We Are Looking For:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in supervision or related field
One (1) year of supervisory experience
Consideration will be given for an equivalent combination of required education and relevant work experience as follows: Associate’s degree and three (3) years of supervisory experience or high school diploma/GED and five (5) years of supervisory experience

Skills Needed:

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources
Must have proven leadership and customer service skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills when dealing with customers, employees and peers
Conflict resolution skills
Strong computer skills including knowledge of Outlook, word processing and spreadsheets
Strong organizational skills necessary
Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematics
Must have completed Building Services Custodial Development Program or be enrolled in program within 90 days of hire
A valid US or Canadian driver's license
