The primary responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating all employee benefit programs for the University main campus and two regional campuses. Participate in strategic planning, benefit administration and execution for the University's benefits functions. Partner with operations to ensure implemented benefits are competitive, cost-effective, and properly balance university and employee needs. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and align with University strategies and direction. Administratively supervise a team of benefit administrators and/or managers.
Responsibilities and Duties
Manage overall benefit vendor relationships
- Participate in selection of vendors and responsible for ongoing relationship
- Resolution of escalated issues
- Maintain effective communication between all stakeholders
- Develop and distribute benefit data and provide recommendations as appropriate
- Ensure collaboration of all benefits and vendors to support university strategy, create efficiencies and be cost effective as appropriate
Provide expertise and strategic input on improving benefit processes and overall program services
- Analyze and interpret benefit data to assess performance and recommend necessary changes
- Review and update internal policies and procedures as necessary
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies as they apply to these areas are maintained
- Ensure benefit communication plan is developed and executed annually utilizing vendors, stakeholders and the benefits team
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective management of benefit programs, communications as it relates to employee health and wellness benefit programs
Provide day-to-day guidance and serve as first point of contact for benefit administrators and managers. Provide training, evaluation, and constructive feedback.
