The Administrator of the newly established Science and Mathematics Academic Resource and Tutoring (SMART) Center will play a central role in advancing student success across the College of Science. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a dynamic academic support operation that directly influences student achievement in foundational STEM disciplines.
What You’ll Do
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of undergraduate and graduate tutors across math and science subjects
- Design and implement evidence-based tutoring strategies and academic support structures
- Provide direct tutoring support as needed, maintaining connection to the student experience
- Collect, analyze, and report on student engagement and outcomes to inform continuous improvement
- Partner with faculty and staff across the College of Science to align tutoring services with course needs and learning goals
What You Bring
- Experience supporting student learning in higher education, tutoring programs, or academic services
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- A data-informed mindset with the ability to translate insights into action
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across academic stakeholders
- Background in a STEM discipline or experience working with STEM curricula preferred
