Objective
To ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient procurement of materials and services by coordinating with vendors and internal departments, while maintaining accurate records and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain strong working relationships with existing vendors and identify new suppliers when required, preferably vendors with shipping or maritime industry background.
- Source materials and services at competitive prices while ensuring quality standards.
- Prepare, process, and track purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Coordinate with Accounts for invoice verification, GRN, and payment processing.
- Maintain proper documentation of purchase records, vendor details, and agreements.
- Monitor inventory requirements and support stock planning.
- Handle urgent and ad-hoc purchase requirements efficiently.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of vendors and supplier markets, preferably within the shipping/maritime sector.
- Good negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
- Understanding of inventory management and logistics processes.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage urgent requirements effectively.
