We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Purchase Manager to manage procurement operations, vendor development, cost negotiation and inventory planning for our manufacturing unit in Coimbatore. The candidate will ensure timely procurement of quality materials at competitive pricing while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end procurement activities for engineering/manufacturing materials
- Identify, evaluate and develop new vendors & suppliers
- Negotiate price, delivery and payment terms with suppliers
- Monitor inventory levels and plan purchase schedules
- Prepare RFQs, purchase orders and comparative statements
- Coordinate with production, stores and accounts departments
- Ensure material quality standards and timely delivery
- Track market trends and implement cost-reduction strategies
- Maintain procurement records, MIS reports and documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation & vendor management skills
- Knowledge of mechanical / industrial components procurement
- SAP software knowledge preferred
- Analytical & cost-control mindset
- Good communication & coordination abilities
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Engineering / Commerce / Supply Chain
Experience
- 3-5 years in Purchase / Procurement (Manufacturing Industry preferred)
