To strengthen our operations in India, we are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement function and contribute to the continued growth of our business.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy
- Define and implement the purchasing strategy aligned with the company's global objectives.
- Develop long-term sourcing plans to ensure supply continuity and competitiveness.
- Identify market trends, supply risks and new sourcing opportunities.
Supplier Management
- Develop strategic relationships with key suppliers across India and international markets.
- Identify, qualify and onboard new suppliers.
- Lead supplier evaluations, audits and performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with Ventós quality, sustainability and ethical standards.
Negotiation
- Lead negotiations for prices, contracts, payment terms and commercial agreements.
- Deliver annual cost savings while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Manage supplier claims and commercial disputes.
Procurement Operations
- Oversee purchasing activities to ensure timely procurement and inventory optimization.
- Monitor supplier KPIs including OTIF, quality, responsiveness and service.
- Ensure purchasing processes comply with company policies.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Work closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Finance and Operations.
- Support new product introductions through supplier identification and qualification.
- Coordinate purchasing initiatives with the global procurement team.
Market Intelligence
- Analyse raw material markets and industry trends.
- Anticipate supply disruptions and define mitigation plans.
- Prepare purchasing forecasts and strategic reports for Management.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive procurement excellence and process optimization.
- Implement best procurement practices and digitalization initiatives.
- Promote cost efficiency without compromising quality or service.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of purchasing experience, including several years in a managerial or strategic procurement role.
- Previous experience in the chemical, flavours & fragrances, pharmaceutical or specialty ingredients industry.
- Experience developing procurement strategies and leading supplier networks.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Languages
- Fluent English.
- Additional regional languages are an advantage.
Travel
- Regular travel across India to suppliers.
- Occasional international travel to suppliers, exhibitions and Group meetings.
