Role Description The Purchasing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bangalore Urban, responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities to support Aerione Bharat’s educational programs, laboratories, and research initiatives. The role includes identifying and sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of equipment, materials, and services. The Purchasing Manager will develop and implement purchasing policies, maintain accurate records, monitor inventory levels, and coordinate closely with finance, operations, and program teams to align procurement with project timelines and budgets. This position also involves evaluating supplier performance, optimizing costs without compromising quality, and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards in all purchasing operations.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in procurement and vendor management, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract administration.
- Experience in inventory management and materials planning to support lab operations, events, and research activities.
- Ability to analyze costs, prepare budgets, and work with finance teams on purchase approvals and reporting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with procurement or ERP software tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role, ideally within education, technology, aerospace, or manufacturing environments.
- Commitment to ethical purchasing practices and familiarity with basic legal and compliance aspects of procurement.
