Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Executive with 8+ years of experience in civil construction procurement, preferably in residential, commercial, and high-rise building projects. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end procurement activities, vendor management, cost optimization, material planning, and ensuring timely availability of construction materials to support project execution.
Key Responsibility
- Manage procurement of civil construction materials including cement, steel, ready-mix concrete (RMC), aggregates, blocks, finishing materials, waterproofing materials, electrical and plumbing items.
- Analyze material requirements received from project sites and prepare procurement plans accordingly.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers for project requirements.
- Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, and finalize vendors after management approval.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and contractual conditions to achieve cost savings.
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor timely delivery of materials at project sites.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Store Teams, and Accounts Departments for procurement planning and execution.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure uninterrupted material availability at site.
- Conduct market surveys and track fluctuations in construction material prices.
- Verify invoices, delivery challans, and purchase-related documentation.
- Maintain procurement MIS reports, vendor records, purchase registers, and contract documentation.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, budgets, and quality standards.
- Support management in cost control initiatives and procurement strategy development.
Required skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, procurement procedures, and supply chain management.
- Extensive experience in procurement for residential, commercial, and high-rise building construction projects.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to prepare comparative statements, rate analysis, and cost evaluations.
- Knowledge of ERP/SAP, Tally, and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple vendors and project requirements simultaneously.
Preferred candidate profile
- 8+ years of procurement experience in civil construction projects.
- Experience in handling procurement for high-rise residential or commercial developments.
- Good understanding of construction drawings, BOQs, specifications, and material planning.
- Proven track record of achieving cost savings and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
