Job Summary:
We are seeking a Strategic Procurement Engineer with strong technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical components, including sheet metal fabrication, thermal products, and electrical assemblies. The candidate must be proficient in interpreting 2D/3D engineering drawings and BOMs, and capable of driving cost optimization, supplier development, and sourcing strategies.
Key Responsibilities;
- Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Development
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for mechanical and electrical components including sheet metal parts, thermal systems, and electrical assemblies.
- Technical Evaluation of Suppliers
- Evaluate supplier capabilities based on manufacturing processes, quality systems, technical expertise, and cost competitiveness.
- Drawing & BOM Interpretation
- Accurately interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure proper sourcing and technical compliance.
- Cost Analysis & Optimization
- Perform cost breakdown analysis, value engineering, and cost reduction initiatives through alternate materials, process improvements, and negotiation.
- RFQ & Contract Management
- Prepare RFQs, compare techno-commercial bids, negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Design, R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Project teams to ensure timely procurement aligned with project schedules.
- Quality & Compliance Management
- Ensure suppliers meet required quality standards, regulatory requirements, and technical specifications.
- Risk Management & Supply Continuity
- Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies including dual sourcing and supplier performance monitoring.
