About the Role
The incumbent manages the acquisition of technical goods, raw materials, and machinery, balancing engineering specifications with cost-effective sourcing. They bridge production and procurement, sourcing vendors, negotiating contracts, managing supplier quality, and ensuring timely delivery of materials while maintaining compliance with company standards.
Scope of Materials
Mechanical parts including sheet metal, fabricated parts, fasteners, suspension, and chassis components
Key Responsibilities
- Convert PR to PO in ERP system
- Ensure timely release of purchase orders
- Follow up with suppliers for on-time delivery
- Track open POs and expedite pending materials
- Coordinate with planning, stores, and production
- Handle GRN and documentation
- Resolve invoice and quantity mismatches
- Maintain MIS and purchase records
- Monitor delivery schedules and lead times
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer - B. Tech- Mechanical
- Proven experience in Purchase department in Automotive industry- TIER 1/OEM for 2 to 6 years
Required Skills
- Knowledge of PR, PO, GRN process
- ERP (Focus preferred)
- Mechanical parts understanding

- Ledger reconciliation
