Role Overview
We are looking for a highly proactive and execution-focused Purchase / SCM Engineer to manage end-to-end procurement operations—from local sourcing to international vendor management.
This role requires a hands-on mindset, where the candidate is equally comfortable sourcing components from local markets as well as handling global supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
- Handle end-to-end procurement of electronics, drone components, RF modules, sensors, mechanical parts, and related materials
- Source from local vendors, distributors, and international suppliers (US,Swiz,Japan,Taiwan, etc.)
- Identify alternate vendors to ensure cost optimization and supply continuity
Vendor Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local shops, distributors, and global suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure reliability
Import & Compliance
- Manage import processes, documentation, and coordination with freight forwarders
- Ensure compliance with Indian regulations (BIS, customs, DGFT if applicable)
- Track shipments and handle delays proactively
Inventory & Planning
- Work closely with engineering and production teams for demand planning
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstocking
- Implement basic inventory tracking systems
Execution (Critical Requirement)
- Must be 100% willing to travel:
- For local market purchases (even small/urgent items)
- Vendor visits, inspections, and follow-ups
- Take ownership of urgent procurement without delays
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Electronics or related field
- Strong understanding of electronic components and hardware supply chain
- Experience in international sourcing and imports
- Knowledge of Incoterms, logistics, and vendor negotiation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment

- Highly proactive and ownership-driven
- No ego approach – ready to handle both strategic sourcing and basic ground-level purchasing
- Strong problem-solving mindset
- Ability to manage uncertainty and urgency
Good to Have
- Experience in drone, UAV, RF, or IoT industry
- Existing vendor network (India + international)
- Familiarity with platforms like IndiaMART, etc.
