Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to manage the end-to-end procurement function for our pharmaceutical marketing business. The candidate will be responsible for vendor management, purchase planning, cost negotiation, timely procurement, inventory coordination, and ensuring the availability of products and materials as per business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end purchase and procurement activities.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders as per approved requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors for timely supply and resolve delivery-related issues.
- Monitor purchase costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Quality, Accounts, Sales, and Management for procurement requirements.
- Maintain proper purchase records, vendor documents, quotations, and agreements.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely procurement to avoid shortages.
- Follow company procurement policies and approval processes.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, pricing, service, and delivery.
- Handle vendor development and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Support management with purchase reports, MIS, and procurement analysis.
- Ensure compliance with applicable pharmaceutical procurement requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain/Procurement will be an added advantage.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Purchase/Procurement.
- Pharma industry experience will be preferred.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Good knowledge of procurement processes and commercial terms.
- Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/Inventory Management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple vendors and procurement activities effectively.
