Job Overview
We are hiring a
Purchase / Procurement Manager to lead end-to-end procurement operations for our manufacturing setup. The role will focus on
strategic sourcing, vendor development, cost optimization, and smooth material availability to support production and business goals.
This is a key role responsible for managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance, and improving procurement efficiency through strong process control and ERP-driven operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, components, machinery, spares, and services
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with production and business requirements
- Handle PO processing, inventory coordination, vendor follow-ups, and procurement reporting through ERP
- Identify and develop new suppliers to ensure cost-effective and reliable sourcing
- Conduct supplier evaluation, performance monitoring, and vendor audits as required
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules
- Perform cost analysis, market benchmarking, and price trend monitoring
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays
- Handle import/export documentation and coordination with freight/clearing agents (if applicable)
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal standards, and ethical practices
- Drive procurement budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives
- Prepare procurement MIS reports, dashboards, and management updates
- Lead and guide procurement team members and ensure process discipline
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong experience in procurement within a manufacturing / engineering / equipment industry
- Proven expertise in vendor management, sourcing, and negotiations
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Knowledge of import/export procedures and documentation
- Strong understanding of procurement planning, inventory coordination, and supply risk management
- Good analytical and cost optimization skills
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management ability
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Qualifications
- Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field (preferred)
- Certification in Supply Chain / Procurement is an added advantage

- Experience managing procurement operations in a manufacturing setup
- Strong vendor development and cost-saving track record
- Ability to handle multiple suppliers and critical timelines efficiently
- Team handling experience will be an advantage
