We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to lead our buying team. You will handle Raw Materials and Packaging Materials. You will build strong supplier ties. You will help us control costs and ensure smooth supply.

Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
- Lead purchase of Raw Materials (food items, ingredients, additives, commodities).
- Manage purchase of Packaging Materials (cartons, laminates, labels, flexible packs).
- Find new suppliers to reduce cost and risk.
- Create smart buying plans that support company goals.
Vendor Development & Management
- Build long-term supplier relationships.
- Negotiate price, credit terms, and contracts.
- Review supplier performance (quality, delivery, price).
- Ensure suppliers meet food safety standards.
Cost Control & Planning
- Lead annual rate contracts.
- Track commodity price trends.
- Suggest smart buying and forward planning.
- Avoid stock shortages and excess inventory.
Coordination & Compliance
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Stores, and Finance teams.
- Ensure materials arrive on time for production.
- Maintain clear reports and purchase records.
- Follow all statutory and regulatory rules.
Process Improvement
- Improve purchase systems and SOPs.
- Support ERP and digital tools for buying.
- Improve lead time and working capital use.
Qualifications
Mandatory
- 15+ years of experience in Food Manufacturing or FMCG procurement.
- Strong experience in Raw Materials and Packaging sourcing.
- Experience in a family-owned or promoter-driven company.
- Strong supplier network in food/FMCG sector.
- Strong negotiation and cost-saving skills.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Engineering.
- MBA in Supply Chain (preferred).
- Experience managing large annual purchase budgets.
- Good knowledge of commodity markets and supply risk.
