Role Description The Purchasing Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based at our plant in Bhopal. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, including identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely purchase of raw materials, equipment, and services. The Purchasing Manager will monitor inventory levels, optimize purchasing schedules, and coordinate closely with production, finance, and logistics teams to support continuous plant operations. Daily activities include evaluating quotations, tracking purchase orders, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring adherence to budget, quality, and compliance standards. The role also involves analyzing market trends, managing procurement records, and implementing cost-saving strategies without compromising operational reliability.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in procurement and supply chain management, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract administration.
- Ability to manage inventory and materials planning, with experience in coordinating purchases that support continuous plant operations.
- Strong commant of Plant Spare parts (Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation etc.)
- Chemicals used in ethanol production
- Proficiency in using ERP or procurement-related software, and solid skills in data analysis and reporting for purchasing activities.
- Knowledge of renewable fuels, chemical or process industries, or manufacturing environments, preferably with exposure to ethanol or related sectors.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with production, finance, and logistics teams.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on cost optimization and quality assurance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; relevant professional certifications in purchasing or logistics are an advantage.
- Previous experience in a purchasing or materials management role, ideally in an industrial or plant-based setting.
