Role Description The Purchase Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Kanpur. The Purchase Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, including identifying suppliers, requesting and reviewing quotations, negotiating pricing and terms, and finalizing purchase orders in line with organizational requirements. Daily tasks include monitoring inventory levels, planning material requirements, coordinating with production, quality, and finance teams, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. The role also involves assessing vendor performance, maintaining accurate purchase and cost records, implementing cost-control measures, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. The Purchase Manager will be expected to build strong vendor relationships, resolve supply issues promptly, and contribute to process improvements that support efficiency and profitability.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong procurement and vendor management skills, including supplier identification, negotiation, purchase order management, and cost optimization.
- Candidates should possess skills in inventory and material management, such as demand planning, stock level monitoring, and coordination with production and warehouse teams.
- Candidates should possess analytical and documentation skills, including data analysis, reporting, record-keeping, and proficiency with MS Excel or ERP-based purchasing systems.
- Candidates should possess communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with cross-functional teams, handle vendor communication, and maintain professional relationships.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of procurement policies, basic commercial terms, and compliance requirements relevant to manufacturing and export-oriented businesses.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field) and prior experience as a Purchase Manager or in a similar procurement role in manufacturing or related industries are highly beneficial.
