This is a full-time, on-site Purchasing Executive role based at Aprazer Healthcare’s pharma plant in Haridwar. The Purchasing Executive will manage end-to-end procurement activities for raw materials, packaging materials, and other supplies required for pharmaceutical manufacturing. Daily responsibilities include processing purchase requisitions, creating and tracking purchase orders, coordinating with vendors and internal departments, and ensuring timely delivery of materials in line with production schedules. The role involves evaluating supplier quotations, negotiating prices and terms, maintaining accurate purchase records, and supporting compliance with relevant quality and regulatory standards. The Purchasing Executive will collaborate closely with production, quality, and finance teams to optimize purchasing processes, control costs, and maintain uninterrupted plant operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Requisition: Review purchase indents from production and warehouse departments, and process purchase orders (POs) via enterprise software like SAP MM.
- Vendor Management: Source and evaluate suppliers for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), excipients, and packaging items (vials, foil, cartons) based on quality and cost.
- Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and credit terms with vendors to optimize procurement costs.
- Compliance Tracking: Ensure all purchased materials meet WHO-GMP or relevant regulatory standards and maintain vendor documentation.
- Inventory & Logistics Coordination: Track shipments, coordinate with warehouse staff for material receipt, and monitor stock levels to prevent manufacturing downtime.
- Finance Support: Resolve invoice discrepancies and coordinate with accounts for timely payment processing.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in science, Pharmacy (B.Pharm/M.Pharm), Materials Management, or an MBA in Pharma/Supply Chain.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of hands-on procurement experience, preferably in a chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing plant.
- Good knowledge of pharmaceutical materials, supply chain processes, and compliance with WHO-GMP/EU-GMP or similar standards is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems like SAP
