Role Description The Purchase Engineer/Executive (Fabrication) is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhopal. The role involves managing end-to-end purchasing activities for fabrication-related materials, components, and services, including identifying suppliers, obtaining quotations, and negotiating prices and terms. The individual will prepare and process purchase orders, monitor delivery schedules, and ensure timely availability of materials in line with project requirements and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with production, quality, and project teams to understand material specifications, maintaining vendor relationships, and tracking inventory levels to support continuous operations. The role also requires analyzing purchase data, optimizing costs, complying with company policies and ISO standards, and contributing to process improvements in the procurement function.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong knowledge of purchasing processes and purchase management within a fabrication or heavy engineering environment.
- Candidates should possess skills in purchase planning and handling purchase orders, including vendor selection, negotiation, and order tracking.
- Candidates should possess solid analytical skills to evaluate quotations, compare costs, monitor supplier performance, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field are preferred.
- Experience in fabrication, heavy structural components, or bridge and infrastructure products, along with familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 procedures, is an advantage.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and documentation skills, with proficiency in basic computer applications and ERP or procurement software, are beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, manage multiple purchase requirements, and maintain accuracy and compliance under deadlines.
