Duties
You will coordinate with other first-line supervisors in the division to ensure proper radiological coverage in all assigned areas.,You will provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring to junior Radiological Control Technicians (RCT) at their worksites and develop them to their full potential.,You will plan work, set priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work, and assign work to subordinates.,You will approve and disapprove leave, certify timecards, establish performance standards and evaluates performance of employees.,You will provide on-scene radiological control responses for actual or potential radiological emergencies.,You will act as the radiological control representative on teams that include Production supervisors and technical code representatives at different levels.,You will prepare or direct the preparation of all reports and other required radiological control documents related to work assignments.
Qualifications
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, coordinating, and executing radiological control (RADCON) surveillances of nuclear operations to assess potential problems and enforce adherence to established policies, procedures, and radiological control concepts; preparing technical reports of findings; and providing on-the-job coaching and mentoring of junior RADCON personnel. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector executing radiological control (RADCON) surveillances of nuclear operations to assess potential problems and enforce adherence to established policies, procedures, and radiological control concepts; and recommending changes to work plans or procedures to improve radiological controls, correct deficiencies, and minimize exposure to radiation. This is an obligated position. The former incumbent has return rights to this position under PL 86-585. Vacancies filled from this announcement may be filled at any grade level listed. If selected below the full performance level, you may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires exposure to high noise levels.
