Job details:
ABOUT BIODEAL :
Biodeal Pharmaceuticals is a WHO-GMP and PIC/S-certified Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO), with 600+ clients across domestic and international markets. Headquartered in Noida, with manufacturing facilities in Nalagarh and Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh, Biodeal is institutionally backed and on a deliberate path toward a public listing. The communications function being built now will carry the company through IPO and into its life as a listed entity.
THE ROLE :
The PR Manager will own Biodeal's external and internal communications - building and managing the company's reputation narrative across media, trade publications, investors, employees, and key stakeholders. This role sits at the intersection of brand-building and institutional credibility: what you build now will shape how investors, analysts, journalists, and B2B clients perceive Biodeal at IPO. It is a foundational appointment. Biodeal currently has no dedicated communications function - this person will build its frameworks, media relationships, and narrative architecture from the ground up, working directly with the Digital Marketing & Growth Lead, the Graphic Designer, and senior leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Media Relations & Press
– Build and manage relationships with journalists, editors, and correspondents across pharma trade media (Pharma Times, Express Pharma, Chemical & Pharma World), business press, and investor publications
– Own the press release function end-to-end — draft, position, time, and distribute announcements on company milestones, partnerships, certifications, and regulatory achievements
– Proactively pitch features, interviews, and thought leadership placements that build Biodeal's share of voice in the CDMO and pharma manufacturing conversation
– Manage incoming media enquiries and ensure every response is accurate, on-brand, and appropriately cleared before it goes out
Investor & Institutional Communications
– Develop and maintain the communications calendar for investor-facing events - announcements, updates, and pre-IPO communications - in coordination with the CFO and management
– Draft investor communication materials: company announcements, messaging frameworks, Q&A documents for external-facing leadership, and narrative documents supporting the DRHP process
– Ensure all external communications maintain consistency with the financial narrative being built toward IPO - nothing contradicts or front-runs the investor story
Corporate Narrative & Content
– Own and continually develop Biodeal's core narrative documents — company story, capability statements, leadership bios, and key messages for different audiences (investors, B2B clients, employees, media)
– Ghostwrite thought leadership articles, op-eds, and executive commentary for Biodeal's senior leadership, targeted at pharma industry and business publications
– Review and quality-control all externally published content for accuracy, tone, and brand consistency — including website copy, social media, and marketing collateral
Internal Communications & Events
– Build and manage the internal communications function - announcements, newsletters, policy communications, and company milestone moments for Biodeal employees across Noida and the Himachal Pradesh plants
– Coordinate PR elements of company events, industry exhibitions, and external-facing activities - including media attendance, photography briefs, and post-event coverage
– Manage award submissions, industry recognition programmes, and employer brand positioning in the market
Crisis & Issues Management
– Develop and maintain Biodeal's crisis communications protocol before it is needed - approved messaging frameworks, spokesperson guidance, and escalation processes
– Act as the communications lead in any reputational event, coordinating closely with legal, compliance, and senior management WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR :
Qualifications & Experience
– 4–8 years of PR, corporate communications, or media relations experience — in-house at a company (pharma, healthcare, manufacturing, or financial services preferred) or in a PR agency serving those sectors – Demonstrated track record of media placements — can point to specific stories placed, relationships with named journalists, and publications covered
– Experience supporting a company through a material corporate event (IPO, M&A, significant fundraise, or regulatory milestone) is a strong advantage
– Excellent written English - you will be writing press releases, executive ghostwriting, and investor communications that are read by senior audiences
– Working knowledge of the pharma/healthcare sector is preferred; candidates who understand what WHO-GMP, CDMO, DRHP, and SEBI mean will ramp faster
Skills & Personal Attributes
– Instinctively understands the difference between promotional content and reputational communications - and when each is appropriate
– Discretion as a default posture, not a reminder - this role will regularly handle commercially sensitive and pre-announcement information
– Confident engaging with senior leadership, journalists, and institutional stakeholders without overdepending on hierarchy
– Organised and proactive - able to manage a rolling communications calendar while responding to opportunistic or reactive situations without losing the planned work
– Comfortable being the first person to build something that doesn't yet exist, rather than stepping into an established function
