Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, for a Public Relations Account Manager. The role involves managing client accounts, developing and executing PR strategies, drafting press releases, engaging with media representatives, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. The PR Account Manager will also ensure the timely delivery of high-quality client services, oversee media outreach efforts, and contribute to strategic planning to meet communication goals.
Summary and Overview of the Position
The Public Relations Account Manager would be responsible for supporting clients across Lifestyle, Auto, Logistics, Consumer brands and EV sectors and will be required to have a thorough understanding of these industries. Primary responsibilities for the Public Relations Account Manager include and are not restricted to the following.
Strategic Client management:
- Independently manage client relationships and successfully develop and execute the client’s strategy and plan.
- Responsible for all the tasks related to the execution of the client’s PR plan and ensuring that all client outcomes are delivered in keeping with the company standards of quality, timeliness, and professionalism.
- Expected to have a thorough understanding of the environment in which your client operates and use learnings to build new ideas.
- Required to liaison with the client teams regularly and ensure client satisfaction.
- Responsible to ensure that all systems and processes are being followed on accounts including reviews, reports, monitors etc.
- Accountable for client satisfaction and must ensure any issues or conflicts or complex situations are immediately brought to the attention of senior management.
- Strategic and analysis-driven research into the media landscape to meet client requirements.
Team Management
- Required to manage, guide, and mentor teams.
- Responsible for ensuring all client servicing resources have the knowledge and information required to service the client and ensuring any development/training needs and performance feedback are brought to the attention of their direct managers. Required to create quality content and have good research skills.
- Responsible for team reviews and appraisals through constructive and timely feedback
- Build morale and bring the team together in the “new normal”.
Business Development:
- Supports new business development efforts
- Become a subject matter expert on relevant client industry developments and market trends
- Identify and pursue cross-selling and up-selling opportunities with existing clients
Qualifications
- Proficiency in creating Press Releases and building Media Relations
- Strong skills in Communication and Public Relations
- Experience in developing and executing Strategic Communications plans
- Excellent organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
- Relevant experience in a PR or integrated communications role
