Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Account Director – Healthcare PR to lead strategic public relations mandates for our healthcare vertical in Bengaluru. This leadership role requires a communications expert with strong media intelligence, deep healthcare sector understanding, and proven experience in building brand reputation, driving narrative-led campaigns, and managing high-value client relationships.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about storytelling, reputation management, executive profiling, and creating meaningful brand visibility for healthcare clients across earned media, thought leadership platforms, and industry ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic PR Counsel
- Serve as the senior strategic advisor for key healthcare clients, offering high-level PR counsel aligned with business and brand objectives.
- Build and lead integrated PR strategies focused on reputation enhancement, brand positioning, corporate visibility, and stakeholder trust.
- Develop compelling communication narratives for hospitals, healthcare brands, pharmaceutical companies, MedTech organizations, and wellness businesses.
- Lead crisis communication planning, issue management, and reputation safeguarding initiatives.
Media Relations & Brand Visibility
- Drive impactful media engagement strategies across healthcare, pharma, business, trade, and mainstream media.
- Cultivate strong relationships with journalists, editors, healthcare publications, and industry influencers to secure quality earned coverage.
- Conceptualize and execute media interactions including press conferences, interviews, editorial opportunities, feature placements, and exclusive stories.
- Build strong executive visibility programs including CEO profiling, authored articles, keynote opportunities, and strategic thought leadership.
Campaign Strategy & Execution
- Lead integrated PR campaigns that combine storytelling, earned media, industry engagement, and brand-building initiatives.
- Develop strategic communication calendars aligned to healthcare awareness days, product launches, research breakthroughs, and corporate milestones.
- Ensure messaging consistency across press materials, speeches, media kits, opinion pieces, and leadership communication.
Client Leadership & Business Development
- Own senior-level client relationships and act as a trusted communications partner.
- Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and contribute actively to new business pitches in the healthcare space.
- Present communication strategies, campaign reviews, and business impact reports with confidence and strategic clarity.
- Drive account profitability while maintaining exceptional servicing standards.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and lead account teams to deliver high-quality strategic communications and flawless execution.
- Build a culture of strong writing, media-first thinking, proactive ideation, and strategic counsel.
- Oversee content quality, campaign planning, and account performance across the healthcare portfolio.
Desired Profile
- 12–14 years of strong Public Relations agency experience is mandatory.
- Proven expertise in handling healthcare / pharma / hospital / wellness brands.
- Established media relationships across healthcare, business, and mainstream press.
- Strong experience in reputation management, executive profiling, and strategic communications planning.
- Exceptional writing, storytelling, presentation, and client management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, grow accounts, and win new business.
