Job Title: Public Policy Specialist
Location: Kolkata West Bengal
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: SPM
Educational Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Public Policy, Administration, Management, Economics, Social Work, Rural Development, or a related discipline from any government-recognized university or institution.
Experience:
Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of work experience in the Public Sector, preferably in the Social Sector.
- Experience in leading Women Empowerment of Rural Livelihood, multidisciplinary teams and managing projects as a lead member.
- Mandatory experience in World Bank-funded projects, along with relevant certificates as proof of involvement.
- Experience with initiatives related to women’s economic empowerment in West Bengal is highly desired.
Core Competencies
- Policy: Knowledge of government policies, legal frameworks, and development initiatives
- Communication: Fluent in English & Bengali; strong writing, presentation, and analytical skills
- Interpersonal: Networking, advocacy, negotiation; inclusive and transparent approach
- Technical: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; multitasking with deadlines
- Other: Willing to travel; effective with diverse stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
- Policy Analysis: Review programs, identify gaps, and prepare reports
- Consultation: Engage stakeholders and recommend policy improvements
- Policy Support: Assist in drafting/amending policies and schemes
- Documentation: Compile programs and legal provisions on women’s empowerment
- Project Support: Ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks
