Essential Job Functions:
• Greets guests at door upon arrival and departure in a warm and enthusiastic manner
• Offers luggage assistance and stores luggage
• Serves as a visible presence at the entrance, opens door when needed,
• Provides directions within hotel (restrooms, F&B, check-in, etc)
• Answers guest questions about the hotel (F&B outlets, “going-ons”, hours of operation, etc)
• Complete knowledge and understanding of hotel services and outlets
• Keeps entrance and Chrystie Garden clean and well-maintained through regular checks and light cleaning (removing trash, reporting any maintenance needs, etc). Report any issues immediately so they can be addressed without delay.
• Maintains consistent brand presentation to lookbook standards
• Proactively cleans ground-level such as light clean of windows for visible smudges, removing trash, adjusting furniture to lookbook, reducing the frequency of outsourced housekeeping
• Warmly and proactively engages guests to provide assistance
• Coordinates and relays to Arrival and Departure if any guests speak to them about an issue with their stay
• Complete knowledge and understanding of hotel services and outlets
Goal:
Make guests and visitors feel comfortable, welcomed, and at ease. The guests should feel like they are at the home of a family or friend (without being corny or over the top). It should feel genuine, warm, and somewhere you’d always want to come back to
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Warm, professional, and guest-focused demeanor
• Positive attitude; remains composed under pressure
• Team player; supports other departments as needed (lateral service)
• Knowledge of downtown NYC culture preferred
• Maintains high standards of personal appearance and hygiene
• Reliable and punctual; reports to work as scheduled
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and late hours
• Able to stand/walk for extended periods
• Able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs
• Basic knowledge of hotel operations or willingness to learn
Preferred:
• Prior experience in hospitality, luxury retail, or guest-facing service roles
• Familiarity with lifestyle or boutique hotel environment

Overall Objective:
The role of the Hotel Ambassador/Greeter is to create a welcoming first and
lasting impression for guests and visitors. They are an embodiment of the PUBLIC brand and one of the most important positions at the hotel. They are friendly, outgoing, and smart, to be the guests’ gracious host throughout their stay
