Role Description The Public Health Engineering Head is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for leading the public health engineering function for building services projects. This role oversees the design and implementation of public health and environmental engineering systems, including water supply, drainage, sanitation, and waste management, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards and public health guidelines. The position involves managing project teams, reviewing and approving designs and calculations, coordinating with multidisciplinary MEP teams, architects and clients, and providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle. The Public Health Engineering Head will monitor quality, safety and environmental performance, support sustainable and energy-efficient design initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and best practices. The role also includes mentoring team members, preparing technical reports and documentation, and representing the public health engineering discipline in stakeholder meetings and design reviews.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Public Health and Community Health, with the ability to integrate public health principles into building services and MEP design.
- Expertise in Environmental Health, including water, sanitation, hygiene, and waste management systems within the built environment.
- Excellent Analytical Skills for interpreting data, reviewing designs and calculations, assessing risks, and optimizing system performance.
- Clear and effective Communication skills for coordination with internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients, and for preparing reports and presentations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering (with specialization in public health), or a related field.
- Significant experience leading public health or building services engineering teams on large-scale commercial, residential, or institutional projects.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant local and international codes, standards, and regulations related to public health, plumbing and environmental engineering.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary MEP environments and with international architects and consultants.
- Proficiency in relevant design and modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM platforms, hydraulic modeling software) and strong documentation skills.
