Role Description The Public Health Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Quilon. The role involves supporting community health programs, assisting in planning and implementing public health initiatives, and helping coordinate outreach activities. Daily tasks include collecting and organizing health data, conducting basic field and desk research, preparing educational materials, and assisting in community awareness sessions. The Public Health Assistant will collaborate with public health professionals and community partners, help maintain accurate records and reports, and contribute to the evaluation of program outcomes. The role also involves clear communication with community members and teams to ensure that health messages are accessible and culturally appropriate.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with community members and multidisciplinary teams.
- Candidates should possess foundational Public Health and Community Health skills to support program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Candidates should possess Research skills to assist with data collection, basic analysis, and reporting on public health activities.
- Candidates should possess Education skills to help develop and deliver health promotion materials and community awareness sessions.
- Relevant qualifications may include a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education, Nursing, or a related field.
- Beneficial skills include cultural competence, basic data management (e.g., spreadsheets), organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively on-site.
- Prior experience in community outreach, home health care, or public health projects is an advantage.
