Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Psychiatrist role based in Kalka. The Psychiatrist will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide ongoing medication management and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, documenting clinical encounters, monitoring treatment progress, and adjusting interventions as needed for inpatient and outpatient settings. The role also involves educating patients and caregivers about mental health conditions, participating in case discussions and clinical reviews, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the clinic. The Psychiatrist is expected to maintain ethical, evidence-based practice and uphold regulatory and organizational standards.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine and Psychiatry, including licensed medical practice and board eligibility or certification as a Psychiatrist.
- Demonstrated expertise in Psychiatric Care and Mental Health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment across diverse populations.
- Specific experience in Adolescent Psychiatry and child mental health, or a clear interest in working with younger patients.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, counselors, nurses, and social workers.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients and caregivers.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and adherence to ethical and legal standards in mental health care.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications in Psychiatry (e.g., MD, DNB, or equivalent) and valid registration with the appropriate medical council.
- Prior experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings is preferred; experience with addiction treatment is an advantage.
