About Psychedelic Alpha

Psychedelic Alpha is a boutique media and consultancy firm that covers the business, science, and policy of psychedelics. From tracking psychedelic drug development and trials to discussing legislative efforts and research findings, we are the go-to source for news and analysis in the psychedelics field.

We work with a diverse range of stakeholders—from investors and biotech companies to policymakers, academics, and healthcare providers—providing unique analyses, curated resources, and a set of consultancy and advisory services.

The Role

We’re looking for a capable and curious individual to work alongside our founder, Josh Hardman. This is a hands-on role with a broad scope, offering the right candidate an opportunity to learn quickly, contribute meaningfully, and grow into a prominent role both at Psychedelic Alpha and in the psychedelics field more broadly.

The ideal candidate has strong research, writing, and communication skills; is adept in accumulating, structuring, and interpreting data; and, has the innate curiosity to learn new and often complex subject matter (in many cases, we are the first to report on or dive into a given topic or its psychedelics-specific nuance, so this is especially important).

A background or interest in biotech, policy, or research is highly desirable, as is a thorough understanding of the psychedelics field. Given that Psychedelic Alpha is intensely focused on the psychedelics space, candidates who are not familiar with the field should be willing to immerse themselves from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research on topics spanning drug development, policy and regulatory matters, and research findings
  • Identify and interview subject-matter experts both within and beyond the psychedelics field
  • Assist in drafting, editing and proofing materials for publication, from interview transcripts through to in-depth reports and weekly newsletters
  • Assist in structuring and maintaining our databases
  • Identify themes in our published content and internal resources that can be leveraged to generate primers, policy papers, and other materials
  • Support publishing workflows such as our content calendar, publishing platforms, and social media marketing
  • Contribute to day-to-day operations, including developing new tools, processes, and ways of working
  • Contribute to consultancy projects, where relevant
  • Over time, take on independent writing and analysis projects, contributing original insights and thought leadership
  • Suggest and assist with other projects and priorities as they emerge

About You

  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, with an ability to grasp new and complex topics
  • A strong sense of initiative and ownership
  • Interest or background in biotechnology, policy, research and/or media, consultancy, publishing
  • Deep understanding of the psychedelics field, or a keen willingness to become very familiar with it
  • Other beneficial skills or experience include: Data visualisation, graphic design, social media marketing, event production, consultancy experience

Why Join Psychedelic Alpha?

  • Be part of a respected organisation in an exciting, fast-paced field
  • Work closely with the founder on meaningful, high-impact projects that offer real ownership and visibility from day one
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • In time, opportunities for travel to attend conferences, workshops, and meetings

Our intention is to make the initial application process as straightforward as possible. If you are interested in this role, please send the following to jobs@psychedelicalpha.com:
