Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop prototypes across domains like robotics, renewable energy, IoT, mechanical systems, electronics, AI-integrated devices, etc.
- Source materials, components, and tools cost-effectively while ensuring quality and feasibility.
- Work closely with students to train, guide, and supervise them in building their own prototypes for competitions, research projects, and university applications.
- Interpret project briefs and transform ideas into functional models, adding your own innovative inputs where applicable.
- Collaborate with project leads, researchers, and academic counselors to align prototypes with broader project goals.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure timely completion of prototypes.
- Maintain documentation for processes, materials used, and design iterations.
Eligibility & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles, CAD software, circuitry, microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi), sensors, motors, 3D printing, etc.
- Experience working with AI/ML integration in hardware projects is a plus.
Skills & Expertise:
- Prototyping: Mechanical, electronic, IoT, or robotics systems.
- Proficiency in tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, basic programming for embedded systems.
- Ability to source materials both online and offline, managing budgets effectively.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a flair for innovation and improvisation.
- Excellent mentoring skills — ability to simplify technical concepts for students.
- Project management skills to handle multiple student projects simultaneously.
