Description

Summary

The dispatcher connects the field staff, office, and customers. They must stay attentive and be prepared to handle sudden route changes or scheduling issues. Additionally, they must efficiently make necessary schedule changes to meet the company's ongoing demand, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Skills and Abilities 


  Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Efficiently schedule or reschedule service calls to maximize technician availability, considering their levels of expertise, specialties, and home addresses.
  • Regularly update customers regarding job progress and Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), among other things. 
  • Maintain close communication with plumbing technicians to adjust schedules and allocate sufficient time for useful job completion. 
  • Accurately report all times and expenses in ProTec Connect. 
  • Maintain close contact with plumbing technicians to adjust or change schedules. 
  • Please assist the Plumbing Director with tasks such as managing job schedules, processing job cancellations, and other related duties.


Requirements

  • Dispatcher: Requires a minimum of 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in the service industry (e.g. Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing)
  • Proficiency in technology is essential, and the ability to learn about the city’s geographical location. 
  • Strong documentation skills are necessary for writing clean and concise job summaries. 
  • Exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Actively listen to others without interruption and ask pertinent questions.  
  • Ability to quickly adapt to constant changes in schedules, routes, and job requirements, and the aptitude to logically evaluate situations, establish priorities, and promptly resolve issues. 
  • Foster professional and positive communication with plumbing technicians, managers, and customers.  
  • Physical Requirements: Able to work in an office environment and use office equipment: computer, laptop, printers, etc., and sit for extended periods.
