Position Title: Substitute Food Service Assistant
Skills and
Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid Washington State Food Handlers permit
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License
• ASFSA/WSFSA certification preferred
• Ability to read and do math and follow written and oral directions accurately
• Ability to follow required work schedule and timelines
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to supervise student workers effectively and professionally
• Knowledge of the National School Lunch Program meal requirements and
portion control
• Ability to work well with students, staff, and supervisors
• Possess a positive and professional attitude and be intentionally inviting to
all potential customers.
Reports To Food Services Supervisor
Major Tasks and
Responsibilities:
• Assist with daily service of lunch
• Clean up of dish room and other areas assigned
• Stay updated on safety and sanitation issues
• Know the nutritional value of required food items offered daily
• Ability to drive a small truck and operate a tailgate
• All other duties as assigned.
