Role Description

The Engineer will support Delta’s Propulsion Engineering team in managing the safety, reliability and lifecycle performance of Delta’s engine fleets through one or more of the following capacities:

Summary Of Responsibilities (not Comprehensive Of All Tasks)

  • Data Analytics Support
  • Support Propulsion Engineering with the business rules being applied for data centralization and data architecture.
  • Partner with the Propulsion Engineering data team to support the identification and implementation of new data analytic requirements with data visualization, web analytics and data science.
  • Partner with IT and other internal business groups as necessary to support deployment and productionization of new analytical data requirements.
  • Update and distribute the reoccurring reporting for the group and manage the reference tables.
  • Product Support for the Propulsion Engineering webpage.
  • Support Propulsion Engineering data integration and application development

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (aerospace or mechanical preferred) or comparable experience in an engineering related discipline.
  • 4-7 years of work relevant experience
  • Should have a technical knowledge of aircraft engines, engine shop processes, engine manuals and standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Previous Airline, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft engines.
  • Experience with SQL databases; specifically, DB2, Oracle, MSSQL, and MySQL
  • Experience with data visualization in Tableau
  • Experience with data analytics software packages such as Alteryx, R and/or Python
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry including data integration and application development utilizing Ontology objects and Workshop
  • Familiarity with airline flight operations and support system.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Must be willing to travel as required.
