Title: Proposal Writer

We are seeking an experienced Proposal Writer/Presales Consultant to lead the development, writing, and submission of high-quality proposals, RFP responses, technical write-ups, and client presentations. The ideal candidate must be adept at understanding client requirements, collaborating across departments, and producing compelling, compliant, and persuasive proposals that increase our win rate.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end proposal development for RFPs, RFIs and capability documents.
- Analyse tender requirements, scope, eligibility criteria, and evaluation parameters.
- Write clear, concise, and compelling content including executive summaries, technical narratives, methodology, project plans, and value propositions.
- Ensure proposals are aligned with brand guidelines, client expectations, and compliance requirements.
- Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), sales, delivery, technical, and leadership teams to gather information.
- Facilitate proposal kick-off meetings, requirement discussions, and review sessions.
- Coordinate with design teams for proposal formatting, graphics, and presentation layouts.
- Edit, proofread, and refine proposal content for clarity, grammar, style, and accuracy.
- Verify that proposals are error-free, compliant, and submitted within deadlines.
- Maintain a library of reusable proposal content, case studies, and templates.
- Conduct industry research, competitor analysis, and gather supporting data to strengthen proposals.
- Suggest innovative strategies to improve proposal effectiveness and win probability.
- Track upcoming opportunities and maintain documentation for future reference.
Required Skills
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to create persuasive, structured, and high-quality content.
- Strong understanding of government and corporate procurement processes.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into reader-friendly content.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and proposal formatting.
- Familiarity with proposal tools, templates, and industry-standard writing frameworks.
- Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and lead proposal efforts with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in English, Communications, Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in proposal/bid writing.
- Experience in IT/ITES, consulting, engineering, or government tenders (as applicable).
Preferred Qualifications
- APMP certification (Foundation/Practitioner) is an added advantage.
- Experience with high-value government tenders and large enterprise bids.
- Understanding of project management and delivery methodologies (Agile/Waterfall).
