Role Description
We are seeking an Proposal Engineer for our Projects & Proposals division to support the delivery of industrial and commercial boiler projects from order intake through commissioning. The role combines technical drawing review, shop-floor coordination, vendor management, and on-site commissioning support while working closely with senior engineers and production teams to ensure projects meet schedule, cost, quality, and safety targets. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who is eager to apply mechanical and manufacturing fundamentals in a heavy‑fabrication environment and grow into a full project lead role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project planning by preparing and maintaining project schedules, material lists, and basic cost tracking.
- Review and update technical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM) in coordination with design and drafting teams.
- Coordinate with production to translate engineering drawings into shop instructions and resolve fabrication queries.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotations, track deliveries, and verify material compliance.
- Support testing and commissioning activities at customer sites, including instrumentation checks and performance verification.
- Maintain project documentation such as test reports, inspection records, and as‑built drawings.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements including relevant boiler and pressure‑vessel codes during fabrication and installation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce lead times, improve yield, and optimize fabrication workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, heavy fabrication, pressure vessels, or internships/co‑ops in related industries.
- Strong problem‑solving ability, clear written and verbal communication, and aptitude for cross‑functional teamwork.
- Familiarity with engineering codes, standards, and regulations is preferred.
- Comfortable using MS Office (Excel, Word) for reporting and tracking.
