Job Description – Project Status Manager (PSM) | Semiconductor Industry
Education Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical / Production / Electrical) or Diploma.
- Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of experience in Supply Chain or related functions.
- Manufacturing / Factory exposure is an added advantage.
- Exposure to the Semiconductor Industry is a plus.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with diverse functional groups and stakeholders on project and material status.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for reporting and communication with cross-functional program teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment and manage priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Good understanding of material management and business processes.
- Sound knowledge of Manufacturing Operations, Product Life Cycle, and Engineering Change Management.
- Expertise in data gathering, analysis, and analytical reporting using charts and advanced Excel functionalities.
Desirable Skills
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- Experience in developing Excel Macros.
- Ability to read and understand Engineering Drawings.
- Knowledge of cross-cultural communication practices.
- Understanding of PDM systems and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Buyers, System Project Managers (PMs), Materials Project Managers (MPMs), Pre-Stock Quality Inspection (PSQI), Planning, Engineering, Program Management, and Production teams to ensure accurate communication of material requirements based on changing priorities.
- Manage daily Roll-Up Reports for Production Meetings and Business Unit (BU) Material Requirement meetings.
- Maintain shortage tracking through system tools and Non-System Orders (NSOs).
- Identify and escalate critical shortages, provide root cause history, and share updated status with System PMs, BU stakeholders, and Operations PMs.
- Support global Buyers (SCLA, AUS, SGP) in prioritizing Purchase Orders (POs) and managing cross-organization inventory availability.
- Assist PSQI teams in prioritizing inspection schedules based on system and NSO requirements.
- Handle Return to Stock (RTS) processes including documentation and BU approvals.
- Coordinate with Logistics teams for material movement and Discreet Job (DJ) material allocation with Planner approval.
- Create Customer Service Requests (CSR / ZRWRK) for engineering labs while ensuring no impact on system and NSO demand.
- Identify and highlight BU allocation issues across global locations and escalate when required.
- Request material expediting and create CSRs for prioritized PO receipts.
- Review Buyers’ hot list updates and approve expedite fees within defined limits.
- Lead Material Task Force meetings for key projects with CBMs, MPMs, Buyers, and Buyer Management teams.
