Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Project Research Scientist, based at IIT Ropar, Rupnagar, Punjab under the supervision of Sukrit Gupta. Research and Development in the domain of DL in Healthcare.
Essential Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in the domains of Computer Science/Artificial Intelligence/Data Science/Information Technology from a recognized university/institute, with first class (minimum 75% marks or 7.5 CGPA). For B.E./B.Tech holders, valid GATE qualification is required unless the degree was awarded by a Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI) with a CGPA of at least 7.5/10 or 75% aggregate marks at graduation; or
- M.Tech/M.E. in the domains of Computer Science/Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing/Artificial Intelligence/Data Science/Information Technology from a recognized university/institute, with first class (minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA). Candidates holding an M.Tech or M.E. degree are NOT required to have a valid GATE qualification; or • M.Sc. in Data Science and Management or Data Analytics or other relevant disciplines can also apply. Valid GATE qualification is required.
- The selected candidate shall be expected to enroll as a full-time, self-sponsored PhD student at IIT Ropar in the relevant department upon joining. Admission to the PhD program will follow IIT Ropar regulations for self-financed candidates and departmental shortlisting criteria, including written test/interview. No financial support for PhD tuition/registration will be provided by the project or the institute; consolidated salary and benefits will be paid solely from the ICMR CAR project grant.
Preferable Qualification:
• Experience and deep interest in pursuing research in the domains of Deep Learning, Medical Data Analysis or Medical Image Analysis.
• Strong programming skills (Python, PyTorch, or similar).
• Previous involvement in academic research projects and/or publications.
Fellowship: Rs. 56,000 + HRA
