We are currently hiring a Project Planning Engineer to join our client's team in Chennai.
Project Planning Engineer - Responsibilities and Requirements
Designation: Project Planning Engineer
Location: Chennai (Project Office – Velachery)
Job Responsibilities :
● Prepare detailed project schedules for all new sites in coordination with the Design, Procurement, and Project Execution teams.
● Track project progress daily/weekly and update schedules accordingly.
● Identify potential delays or resource bottlenecks and proactively flag them to management.
● Coordinate with procurement for timely material deliveries based on project schedules.
● Maintain a project dashboard (using MS Project / Zoho Projects / Excel) to monitor site progress, pending tasks, and timelines.
● Conduct weekly project review meetings with the Project Manager and Site Engineers.
● Standardize project planning templates, checklists, and reporting formats for consistency across sites.
● Support management in improving overall project predictability and customer delivery timelines.
● Prepare reports and presentations on project status, timelines, and deviations.

● Passionate about planning and process-driven execution.
● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
● Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and vendors simultaneously.
● Should bring discipline to project tracking and schedule adherence.
● Proactive in identifying risks and finding practical solutions.
● Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
Candidate Requirements :
● Educational Qualification: B.E., or B.Tech., in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Construction Management, or equivalent.
● Experience: 4–8 years in project planning/scheduling in interior fit-out, construction, or MEP industry. ● Software Skills: MS Project / Primavera / Zoho Projects / Excel (Advanced).
● Communication Skills: Good English (verbal & written); Tamil-speaking preferred.
● Analytical Skills: Ability to read drawings, understand dependencies, and plan sequences effectively.
● Location: Chennai (must be open to site visits as needed).
