Job Overview:
The Project Manager will manage the execution of large-scale oil & gas projects, ensuring seamless integration of technical, financial, and operational aspects. This role demands strong leadership, strategic oversight, and in-depth technical expertise to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex engineering projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Oversee and direct all aspects of project execution from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client expectations.
- Strategic Planning: Develop project strategies, execution plans, and key performance indicators to ensure successful delivery.
- Technical Oversight: Provide high-level guidance on engineering designs, technical specifications, and construction methodologies to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison with clients, government agencies, and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment of project goals.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address challenges to avoid project delays or cost overruns.
- Financial Management: Oversee project budgeting, cost control, and financial forecasting to ensure financial viability and profitability.
- Contract & Procurement Management: Lead contract negotiations, vendor selection, and procurement strategies to optimize project efficiency.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project activities adhere to local and international regulations, including API, ASME, ISO, and HSE guidelines.
- Team Development: Mentor and lead project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control measures, ensuring project deliverables meet or exceed industry and client standards.
Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Engineering Expertise: Deep knowledge of oil & gas infrastructure, including pipelines, refineries, and offshore platforms.
- Project Management: Extensive experience in scope definition, scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management and engineering design software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, and CAESAR II.
- Risk & Crisis Management: Ability to anticipate, assess, and address project risks and crises effectively.
- Contract & Vendor Negotiation: Strong understanding of contract management, vendor relations, and supply chain optimization.
- HSE Standards: In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, or related field).
- Master’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in project management and engineering within the oil & gas sector.
- Proven experience managing large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.
Certifications:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is an advantage.
Leadership & Communication:
- Strong ability to inspire, mentor, and lead diverse teams.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.
Language Skills:
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
