Opportunity: Project Manager / Project Lead Transmission & Distribution | Power / EPC Industry
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Project Lead with 16 to 25+ years of experience in Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects to lead engineering, project execution, erection, testing & commissioning of large-scale EHV/HV Substations and Transmission Line projects. The role requires expertise in AIS/GIS substations, EHV systems, EPC project execution, construction management, commissioning, and client/stakeholder management.
Preferred
Candidates with international project experience and exposure to Owners, Consultants, or EPC Contractors on large T&D projects are preferred. Experience in 132kV765kV AIS/GIS substations, transmission lines, erection, testing & commissioning, and EPC execution is highly desirable.
Role Details
Job Title: Project Manager / Project Lead – Transmission & Distribution
Experience: 16–25+ Years
Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
Location: Nigeria (West Africa) (Indians Candidates Preferred)
Reporting To: General Manager – Power Projects
Department: Transmission & Distribution
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering, project execution, erection, testing & commissioning of T&D projects.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Plan and monitor project schedules, budgets, resources, quality, and HSE compliance.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, EPC contractors, OEMs, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Oversee execution of AIS/GIS substations (132kV–765kV), EHV transmission lines, protection, SCADA, and control systems.
- Manage construction activities, site execution, installation, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
- Review engineering deliverables, technical specifications, BOQs, vendor documents, and method statements.
- Resolve technical issues, manage project risks, and ensure timely project completion.
- Ensure compliance with international standards, utility specifications, and contractual requirements.
Technical / Functional Skills
- EPC project execution and site management.
- Erection, testing & commissioning of AIS/GIS substations (132kV–765kV).
- EHV transmission line construction and commissioning.
- Protection systems, SCADA, control & automation.
- Project planning, construction management, contractor coordination, and resource management.
- Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, ANSI, and international utility standards.

- Ability to manage multiple contractors and site teams.
- Willingness to work in multicultural environments and overseas project sites.
Important Note
- 10+ years of experience in Transmission & Distribution projects is mandatory.
- Experience in project execution, erection, testing & commissioning of AIS/GIS Substations (132kV–765kV) and EHV Transmission Lines is essential.
- International project exposure is preferred.
- Candidate should be willing to relocate to Nigeria (West Africa) and work on site as well as required for the project duration.
