The
Project Manager Electrical is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering electrical works for infrastructure projects such as highways, metro systems, airports, railways, power distribution networks, and large industrial developments. The role ensures timely project completion, compliance with safety and quality standards, and effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning Management
- Plan and manage all electrical activities for infrastructure projects from design review to commissioning.
- Prepare project execution plans, schedules, and resource allocation .
- Monitor progress against project timelines and take corrective actions when required.
- Coordinate electrical activities with civil, mechanical, and utility teams .
- Engineering Technical Management
- Review and approve electrical drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and design documents .
- Ensure proper implementation of systems such as:
- Power distribution systems
- Substations and transformers
- Street lighting systems
- SCADA and control systems
- Electrical panels and switchgear
- Earthing and lightning protection systems
- Cable laying and termination
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and system integration .
- Site Execution Coordination
- Supervise electrical installation activities at project sites.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and government authorities .
- Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Contract Vendor Management
- Manage electrical contractors and subcontractors.
- Evaluate contractor performance and progress.
- Coordinate procurement of electrical materials and equipment.
- Review technical submittals and vendor documentation.
- Cost Budget Control
- Monitor project budgets and control electrical project costs.
- Track material usage and ensure cost-effective project execution.
- Manage change orders, variation claims, and contract documentation.
- Quality Assurance Compliance
- Ensure compliance with national electrical standards, safety regulations, and project specifications .
- Implement QA/QC procedures for electrical installations.
- Conduct regular quality audits and inspections.
- Health, Safety Environment (HSE)
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards and policies .
- Promote safe working practices at the project site.
- Conduct safety meetings and risk assessments.
- Reporting Documentation
- Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports .
- Maintain documentation for electrical drawings, approvals, and project records.
- Report project status, risks, and mitigation plans to senior management.
