Reporting into India HQ
Location: DRC (site-based, rotational)
Reports to: Country Manager (local) / Operations Head, India HQ (dotted line)
Purpose
Manage on-ground project execution and operations at the DRC copper mine/processing site, while serving as the primary link between site operations and India HQ — ensuring leadership has daily visibility into production, quality, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Operations Management
• Lead mine development, expansion, and plant projects from planning through commissioning — scope, budget, schedule
• Coordinate mine engineering, geology, processing/metallurgy, and logistics teams to hit production targets
• Oversee EPC/EPCM contractors, equipment procurement, and subcontractor management
• Implement HSE standards across all phases; ensure DRC mining code and environmental compliance
India HQ Reporting & MIS
• Prepare and submit daily production reports — tonnage mined/milled, ore grade, recovery rates, downtime/breakdowns
• Track and report quality parameters — Cu grade in concentrate/cathode, impurity levels, against contractual/offtake specs
• Maintain daily/weekly operations dashboard for India leadership covering plant utilization, equipment availability, manpower, and safety incidents
• Flag deviations from plan in real time (production shortfalls, quality rejections, equipment downtime) with root-cause and corrective action
• Consolidate monthly MIS packs reconciling site data against budget/forecast for India management and board review
• Coordinate timing across IST/CAT time zones for daily sync calls with India HQ
Stakeholder & Supply Chain
• Manage relationships with Ministry of Mines, JV partners, local communities, and investors
• Oversee logistics
• Support trade finance/offtake documentation flow between site and India-based finance/BD teams
Requirements
• Degree in Mining Engineering / Metallurgy / Project Management
• 8–15 years’ mining project experience; DRC or Sub-Saharan Africa exposure desirable
PMP or equivalent certification
• Strong grasp of copper processing (SX-EW/flotation) and production MIS systems
• Comfortable with rigorous daily reporting cadence and cross-time-zone coordination with India HQ
