Project Manager – Construction Background
Location: Goa / India Company: Solarpunk Futures
Job Summary
Solarpunk Futures is seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager with a strong construction background to lead and oversee end-to-end project execution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and delivering construction and infrastructure projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
The role requires strong leadership, technical understanding, vendor coordination, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across site operations and corporate functions.
Key Responsibilities
· Project Planning & Execution
· Lead construction projects from initiation through completion.
· Develop project schedules, timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
· Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
· Ensure project milestones are achieved within deadlines and approved budgets.
· Monitor daily site activities and resolve operational challenges efficiently.
Site & Construction Management
· Supervise construction progress and ensure quality workmanship.
· Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and local regulations.
· Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews.
· Oversee contractor performance and enforce project standards.
· Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies.
Vendor & Procurement Coordination
· Coordinate with procurement teams for timely material sourcing and delivery.
· Evaluate contractor quotations and supplier proposals.
· Monitor inventory, material usage, and wastage control.
Budget & Reporting
Track project costs and prepare regular budget reports.
Identify risks, delays, and cost overruns proactively.
Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports for management.
Maintain proper project documentation and records.
Team & Stakeholder Management
· Lead and motivate site teams and project staff.
· Coordinate effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders.
· Ensure smooth communication between management, contractors, and site teams.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
· 5+ years of experience in construction project management.
· Strong understanding of construction processes, site management, and project execution.
· Experience managing contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and BOQs.
· Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in MS Office, project scheduling tools, and reporting systems.
· Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in industrial, infrastructure, factory, or sustainability-focused projects.
· PMP certification or equivalent project management training is an advantage.
· Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, and compliance processes.
· Experience working in fast-paced or startup environments preferred.
