Role Overview
You will play a key role in the successful delivery of customer projects ensuring strong governance, commercial control, and excellent customer experience throughout the project lifecycle.
This role suits a confident, organized, and proactive Project Manager who enjoys working in a structured PMO environment, is comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects, and takes pride in clear communication, consistency, and delivery against agreed standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Project delivery & governance
- Take full ownership of assigned projects from kick‑off through to formal closure, ensuring delivery in line with agreed scope, budget, timescales, and quality standards.
- Apply respective project management framework and PMO standards consistently, aligned with APM principles.
- Develop, maintain, and actively manage detailed project plans, schedules, and implementation approaches.
- Lead internal and external project meetings (including kick‑off, key milestone reviews, and closures), ensuring actions are clearly documented and promptly communicated.
2. Customer & stakeholder management
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide clear, timely, and professional project updates to customers and internal stakeholders, including risks, issues, variations, and progress against plan.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction, managing expectations and addressing concerns proactively.
3. Commercial & financial control
- Track and manage project costs to ensure projects remain within agreed budgets.
- Maintain accurate project financials, including profitability, forecasting, and reporting.
- Manage valuation and application tracking to support accurate and timely monthly project billing.
- Raise and manage project variations in line with internal commercial and governance processes.
4. Resource & delivery coordination
- Forecast and schedule project resources effectively, working closely with the PMO and engineering teams.
- Request and oversee project‑related procurement, ensuring correct approvals and timely delivery.
- Coordinate accommodation and travel arrangements where required as part of project delivery.
5. Risk, quality & continuous improvement
- Identify, document, and actively manage project risks and issues, escalating appropriately where required.
- Maintain project documentation including issue and risk registers, action logs, and project reports.
- Lead quality assurance activities to ensure project outputs meet agreed standards.
- Participate in project closure meetings and contribute to continuous improvement within the PMO.
6. Systems & reporting
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date project tasks, phases, and documentation within Autotask.
- Produce clear project reports and executive summaries as required.
Requirements
Required skills and experience
- Proven experience delivering projects to agreed scope, budget, and timelines.
- Project management qualification (APM, PMP or equivalent) or demonstrable hands‑on project management experience.
- Strong customer‑facing experience with the ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally.
- Excellent organisation and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider delivery team.
- High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
Desirable Experience
· Experience working within an MSP or ICT services environment.
· Working knowledge of Autotask, IT Glue, and/or SharePoint.
· Technical IT background or strong understanding of IT delivery environments.
· Experience working in structured PMO environments.
· Hospitality or customer‑service‑led industry experience.
