Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong Japanese language proficiency to manage end-to-end project delivery for Japan-based clients. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background (Java or AI technologies), proven project management experience, and the ability to effectively communicate with Japanese stakeholders while leading cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire project lifecycle from initiation to successful delivery
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Japanese clients and internal teams
- Communicate, translate, and interpret requirements (Japanese ↔ English)
- Lead client discussions, technical conversations, and project reviews in Japanese
- Prepare and manage project plans, schedules, estimations, SOW, and delivery notes
- Track project progress, risks, dependencies, and ensure timely delivery
- Handle multiple projects in parallel and ensure alignment with scope, timeline, and budget
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, QA, Operations, etc.)
- Conduct status reporting, documentation, and stakeholder communication
- Participate in technical discussions and understand technical terminologies (Java/AI)
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and delivery commitments
- Proactively identify issues, resolve them, and escalate risks when required
- Lead and manage team performance and project execution
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Business, or related field
- Japanese Language Proficiency (Mandatory): JLPT N2 or N3
- 8–10 years of experience in project management and technical roles
- Strong experience working with Japanese clients / Japan-facing projects
- Hands-on experience in Java or AI technologies
- Proven ability in handling teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile / Waterfall)
- Experience in Agile development practices (CSM certification is a plus)
- Expertise in end-to-end project management lifecycle (SOW, estimation, execution, delivery)
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred Skills:
- Scrum Master Certification (CSM) – Good to have
- Ability to bridge business and technical discussions effectively
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
