Position Summary
The Project Manager – Internal Delivery & Programs will own how work moves through the organisation internally, including sprint cadence, release planning, cross-team dependencies, and delivery processes. The role will work closely with Engineering, Data/ML, QA, Product, DevOps/Security, and Clinical & Coding SMEs to ensure predictable and efficient product delivery.
The role is primarily focused on internal delivery and does not own client relationships. It will work as the internal counterpart to the client-facing Project Manager.
Responsibilities
Delivery Execution
- Run agile ceremonies across squads, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Maintain a reliable source of truth in Jira/Linear with clean backlogs, properly sized stories, and realistic due dates.
- Own the release calendar and release checklist, including cut criteria, regression sign-off, deployment windows, rollback plans, and release notes.
- Track and remove cross-team dependencies between Data Engineering, ML, Application, QA, and DevOps teams.
- Publish weekly delivery dashboards covering velocity, scope changes, cycle time, defect escape rate, and on-time release percentage.
Program & Process Management
- Coordinate multi-product programs where initiatives span multiple products and teams.
- Manage the intake process for requests from Sales, Delivery, and Support using a defined prioritisation approach.
- Maintain the engineering risk and issue register and escalate early with available options and recommendations.
- Coordinate AI/model release governance with Data Science teams, including evaluation results, accuracy thresholds, drift checks, human-review gates, and audit trails.
- Support SOC 2/HIPAA audit cycles through evidence collection, access reviews, policy adherence, and timely closure of audit findings.
Team Enablement
- Improve team processes, including definition of ready/done, estimation practices, meeting discipline, and documentation standards.
- Keep engineering documentation and runbooks updated in Confluence/Notion.
- Support onboarding of new engineers into processes and tools.
- Drive retrospective actions through completion.
- Partner with the client-facing Project Manager to translate committed client dates into realistic engineering plans and communicate when timelines are not achievable.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience managing software delivery in an Agile environment such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Strong hands-on experience with Jira or Linear, including workflows, boards, filters, dashboards, and reporting.
- Experience with Confluence/Notion and engineering documentation.
- Technical literacy and ability to participate in discussions around APIs, databases, cloud deployments such as AWS/Azure/GCP, CI/CD pipelines, environments, and data pipelines.
- Strong dependency and risk management skills across multiple teams.
- Excellent written communication, including status updates, decision logs, and escalations.
- Ability to build and interpret delivery metrics and use data to report project performance.
Preferred
- Experience delivering AI/ML products, including model training/evaluation cycles, dataset versioning, annotation workflows, and staged model rollouts.
- Healthcare or HIPAA-regulated software experience, including understanding of PHI handling in development and test environments.
- CSM/PSM, SAFe, or PMP certification.
- Basic SQL skills and familiarity with BI tools for independently obtaining delivery and product-usage data.
