Job details:
Indicold is building a temperature-controlled warehouse for its own operations, and we’re looking for a project manager to be the single point of accountability for the build — from design coordination through construction, commissioning, and handover. You will drive multiple contractor packages to a common schedule, budget, and quality standard, and hand over a facility that is ready to store product from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the project end-to-end: planning, scheduling, budget, execution, commissioning, and handover.
- Coordinate all work packages and their vendors: civil & structural (PEB), insulation (PUF panels, vapour barriers, insulated flooring), storage systems (racking / AS/RS), refrigeration plant, and MEP (electrical, fire-fighting, plumbing, BMS).
- Manage contractor selection, scope finalisation, BOQ review, work orders, and billing verification.
- Build and maintain the project schedule (MS Project / Primavera), track the critical path, and drive site progress against milestones.
- Own cost control — track against budget, flag variances early, and control change orders.
- Supervise site execution for quality and workmanship; run inspections and resolve technical issues with vendors.
- Enforce site safety (EHS) throughout construction.
- Drive statutory approvals and liaison — building/plan approvals, Fire NOC, FSSAI Schedule 4 readiness, factory and electrical clearances, and local authority coordination.
- Coordinate commissioning, especially refrigeration pull-down and temperature validation, and lead the handover to operations.
- Report progress, risks, and decisions to management on a regular cadence.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (a Diploma with strong relevant experience is also welcome).
- Proven experience managing industrial, warehouse, or PEB construction projects as an owner’s representative or with a reputed contractor/PMC.
- Working command of project scheduling, budgeting, and vendor/contractor management.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
Preferred (Good to Have)
- Direct experience with cold storage, PUF panel work, or refrigeration projects. Not mandatory — if you’ve delivered strong industrial/warehouse builds, we will bring you up the cold-chain learning curve.
- Familiarity with racking / AS/RS systems.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Skills
- MS Project / Primavera, AutoCAD (reading), MS Office.
- Strong coordination, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on, site-first attitude with the ownership to be the point person.
