Job Title: Project Lead (Government Liaison + Air Pollution) (Contract - 12 months
Job Location: Gurugram / Delhi NCR (field + stakeholder-facing)
Role Overview
The Project Manager owns end-to-end delivery of the programme across all three workstreams — leading senior government liaison, unlocking operational permissions, coordinating the full set of vendors, and
managing the client and funder relationship through regular updates and presentations.
Core Responsibilities
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior officials at NHAI, MCG, GMDA and other authorities, and represent the programme credibly at a senior level.
• Secure and maintain operational permissions — water for the misting vehicle, parking and staging for vehicles, and corridor/site access — anticipating bottlenecks and resolving them before they delay operations.
• Apply foresight to raise the programme’s visibility within government, align it to MCG’s air-pollution target, and create opportunities for greater government buy-in.
• Manage and coordinate the multiple vendors and partners: vehicle vendors (misting and sweeping), the manpower agency, the Site Supervisor and sanitation team, and the green-bridge contractors.
• Coordinate with the client-servicing team to give regular updates, flagging problems early and presenting clear mitigation solutions.
• Lead regular reviews and presentations with the client and senior funding and government stakeholders, reporting progress against the impact targets (AQI, road dust, PM10).
• Own the project plan, timelines, budget tracking, risk management and the monitoring/KPI framework, including the seasonal AQI baselines, and direct the Project Lead, Air Pollution Expert and field team.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s / Master’s in a relevant field (public policy, environmental management, urban planning, business or project management).
• Substantial experience (typically 5–8+ years) managing on-ground projects, ideally in urban infrastructure, environment, sanitation, CSR or development.
• Proven senior-level government liaison and stakeholder management (municipal / state / national bodies), including securing government permissions.
• Strong vendor and contract management experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable presenting to corporate clients and senior officials; strong problem-solving and foresight.
• Existing relationships within MCG, GMDA, NHAI or the Haryana government; experience on CSR-funded or air-quality programmes; knowledge of Gurugram / NCR.
• Experience in air pollution or a strong understanding of air quality and mitigation strategies.
