Position: Project Incharge – Solar Rooftop
Experience: 3–5 years in Solar Rooftop / Solar EPC Project Management
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Project Incharge – Solar Rooftop to manage end-to-end execution of rooftop solar projects in Visakhapatnam. The role will be responsible for project planning, site execution, vendor coordination, quality and safety, documentation, and effective coordination with the Electricity Board and other government authorities.
The ideal candidate should have strong project management skills, hands-on knowledge of rooftop solar installation, and experience in managing vendors, contractors, customers, and electricity board processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute rooftop solar projects from project initiation to commissioning.
- Prepare project schedules, execution plans, manpower requirements, and material plans.
- Monitor project progress against timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate site surveys, engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Ensure timely completion and handover of projects.
- Identify project risks, delays, and technical issues and take corrective actions.
- Maintain project documentation, progress reports, checklists, and commissioning records.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
2. Vendor & Contractor Management
- Identify, coordinate, and manage installation contractors, electrical contractors, suppliers, and other vendors.
- Allocate work and monitor vendor performance at project sites.
- Ensure availability and timely delivery of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Verify vendor work quality and adherence to project specifications.
- Coordinate vendor billing, measurements, work completion, and documentation.
- Resolve vendor-related issues and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local vendors and contractors.
3. Electricity Board Management
- Coordinate with the concerned Electricity Distribution Company / Electricity Board for rooftop solar project approvals and execution.
- Manage documentation and submission of applications for net metering/connectivity and related approvals.
- Coordinate site inspections, meter-related activities, testing, and commissioning with electricity board officials.
- Follow up on pending applications, approvals, inspections, and documentation.
- Maintain records of all electricity board correspondence and approvals.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable electricity board and technical requirements.
4. Site & Technical Coordination
- Supervise rooftop solar installation activities including module mounting structures, solar modules, inverters, DC/AC cabling, earthing, and electrical works.
- Coordinate with engineering and design teams to resolve site-level technical issues.
- Ensure proper installation as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor workmanship, safety, and quality at project sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections and prepare progress reports.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in Solar EPC / Rooftop Solar Project Execution.
- Strong understanding of rooftop solar installation and electrical systems.
- Experience in handling electricity board / DISCOM processes.
- Proven experience in vendor and contractor management.
- Strong project coordination and execution skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, MS Office, project documentation, and reporting.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with net metering and rooftop solar approvals.
- Knowledge of applicable DISCOM procedures and documentation.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
