About Rooman
Rooman Technologies is investing in building a portfolio of AI-led products that solve real, high-impact problems at scale. We are bringing together a focused team of product engineers, ML practitioners, and designers to ship intelligent software that delivers measurable outcomes for our users and partners.
The Project Head – AI Product Development will lead this charter end-to-end — setting the product direction, building the team, and shipping the releases that take Rooman's AI ambitions from strategy to production.
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on product leader to own the end-to-end delivery of Rooman's AI product portfolio. You will lead cross-functional squads of ML engineers, full-stack developers, designers, and data engineers to ship products that users adopt and rely on.
This is a builder's role. You will translate ambiguous problem statements into clear product bets, technical architectures, and shipped releases — while keeping commercial, compliance, and quality outcomes in view.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
• Own the AI product roadmap end-to-end — from discovery and prioritization through launch, adoption, and iteration.
• Translate business goals and user needs into a coherent set of AI product bets with clear hypotheses, success metrics, and exit criteria.
• Define product KPIs (adoption, engagement, accuracy, latency, cost-to-serve, revenue impact) and hold the team accountable to them.
Delivery & Execution
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of ML engineers, backend/frontend developers, data engineers, UX designers, and QA — typically 15–25 people across in-house and partner pods.
• Run sprint planning, releases, and post-mortems; ensure a predictable, high-quality shipping cadence.
• Drive technical decisions on architecture, model selection (LLMs, classical ML, computer vision), MLOps tooling, and build-vs-buy trade-offs.
• Manage timelines, budgets, vendor contracts, and risk for the AI product portfolio.
AI / ML Leadership
• Set the technical bar for how Rooman builds with AI — evaluation, safety, bias mitigation, hallucination guardrails, and responsible deployment.
• Stay current on the GenAI ecosystem (foundation models, RAG, fine-tuning, agents) and translate it into pragmatic product decisions — not hype.
• Partner with data teams to build the data foundation that AI products depend on — pipelines, labeling, evaluation sets, and monitoring.
Stakeholder & Customer Engagement
• Work closely with Rooman's leadership, business stakeholders, and customers to validate problems and demo solutions.
• Represent the AI product team in client conversations, proposal responses, and external forums.
• Build internal alignment across operations, sales, finance, and other functions.
Team & Culture
• Hire, mentor, and grow the AI product engineering team.
• Establish engineering practices: code review, documentation, observability, on-call, and post-incident learning.
• Champion an evidence-driven culture — ship, measure, learn, iterate.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline. Strong candidates from other backgrounds with equivalent experience will be considered.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in software product development, with at least 3 years leading engineering or product teams.
• Demonstrable experience shipping at least one production AI/ML product — ideally involving NLP, LLMs, recommendation systems, or computer vision.
• Strong technical depth: comfortable reviewing system design, ML pipelines, and code; able to make credible build-vs-buy and architecture calls.
• Proven delivery track record: managed budgets, timelines, and multi-team programs through to launch and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills — able to explain trade-offs to a CEO, a customer, and a junior engineer with equal clarity.
• Familiarity with modern product and engineering practices: agile, CI/CD, cloud (AWS / GCP / Azure), MLOps, and data infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on exposure to LLM application development — RAG, evaluation frameworks, prompt engineering, agentic workflows.
• Experience taking a 0-to-1 AI product from prototype to scale, including pricing, packaging, and go-to-market collaboration.
• Experience with enterprise or B2B customers, including security, compliance, and integration considerations.
• Published work, open-source contributions, or speaking experience in AI / product communities.
