Job Overview
The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of ground mount solar power projects from site mobilization to project commissioning. The role involves supervising site activities, coordinating with civil, electrical, and mechanical teams, and ensuring that project execution is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with design specifications and quality standards. The Project Engineer will monitor project progress, manage resources, resolve site-level technical issues, and maintain effective communication between the project management team, contractors, and other stakeholders. The position also ensures compliance with safety regulations, project timelines, and company quality standards to achieve successful project delivery.
Job Location: Anywhere in Karnataka.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and scheduling of ground mount solar project activities and coordinate with civil, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct site surveys and prepare data-driven designs and reports.
- Oversee installation and commissioning of solar projects, ensuring safety, quality, and design compliance.
- Supervise daily site activities including land preparation, foundation works, module mounting structures, module installation, and electrical works.
- Track project progress against schedules and prepare regular progress reports for the project management team.
- Ensure all site activities follow safety regulations, work permits, and HSE guidelines.
- Collaborate with clients to understand energy needs and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that all construction and installation activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
- Maintain proper site documentation including daily progress reports, inspection records, work completion reports, and project documentation.
- Assist in testing, inspection, and commissioning of the solar plant to ensure the system performs as per design specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or Diploma electrical or related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in solar or electrical projects.
- On-site experience.
- Proficiency in tools like Excel, AutoCAD, and MATLAB, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Specialized in Solar Ground Mount projects.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborative.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a demanding construction environment.
- Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Ability to stand for long periods and navigate uneven terrain.
